Megan Buresh, MD, DFÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ
Biography
Dr. Megan Buresh is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Addiction Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a joint appointment in epidemiology at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University (magna cum laude with highest honors in field), completed medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
She is medical director of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Inpatient Addiction Consult Service. She also provides integrated buprenorphine treatment as part of her outpatient primary care practice and is the lead physician for the BHLI Project Connections to Re-Entry (PCARE) program, a low threshold buprenorphine clinic located outside the Baltimore City Detention Center. She is currently leading a pilot to initiate opioid agonist therapies into post-acute care. Her research interests include public health and addiction, developing and evaluating models to expand office-based opioid treatment, and improving linkages between clinical addiction treatment and community organizations. She is currently the Secretary for the Maryland-DC Chapter of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and Chair of the Addiction Consult Special Interest Group.
